This painting is inspired by the vivid atmosphere of a colorfully rising and setting sun in Colorado’s Rocky Mountains where I live. At the height of Summer when the landscape that was nourished for months with Winter and Spring now, the landscape becomes enlivened with bright, saturated colors. I love the magcial atmosphere when the light illuminates the green hills and creates layers of soft blues in the mountains and a fiery, vivid sky beaming with life and color. Its this fleeting and mystical  display of color that inspired me to paint it and capture it in a timeless image that can always remind us of those beautiful mountain moments.
