Blue Mountain Sunset

Blue Mountain Sunset, acrylic on board, 35”x35”x2”, 2021

This painting is inspired by the many years that I’ve spent in the mountains all across the United States. It is a tribute to countless sunsets that can’t really be captured in photos. I’ve compiled memories of my favorite moments where the mountains become layers of blue while the setting sun creates a bright, colorful expression in the above sky. All of this is a fleeting moment but has inspired me to to keep coming back to the mountains for a chance to catch something remotely similar, even if  just  for a few magical minutes.
