Hiking to Grinnell Glacier
This is 32″x24″ acrylic wash painting of the view from the trail hiking to Grinnell Glacier in Glacier National Park.
‘Hiking to Grinnel Glacier’ is a painting I created while looking back on my trips to Glacier National Park in Montana. Hiking up this trail was a beautiful introduction to the splendor of the park. As we came up towards Lake Josephine (seen in the second photo where I’m standing on the trail), it was a jaw-dropping moment, everything one dreams of when planning a trip to this incredible pocket of wilderness. The vegetation was so lush and green but there was still enough of a clearing along the shoreline to reveal the surrounding landscape while framing it out beautifully and highlighting the striking Mt Gould.
The painting was created on a gessoed hardboard which is framed in a custom 2.5″ floating frame. Hanging wire is attached on back so its ready to hang. The painting is varnished in semigloss and signed by the artist in the front.
