Luminescent Night Above the Sunflower Meadow

Luminescent Night Above the Sunflower Meadow , acrylic on board, 22″x46″ (23.5″x47.5″ framed), 2023 ~SOLD

In this painting, I explored the night sky above a flower-filled mountain meadow. I love seeing all the wild sunflowers scattered through out the Colorado landscape in the Summer. I often see many purple colored flowers intertwined through out yellow fields. Some Summers in late August and September, the aster bunches and wild prairie sunflowers are in extra abundance and make for a spectacular display as seen in the photo I included here that I took in an aster meadow at my sculpture park in Mosca, Colorado. When the purple and yellow flowers at the foot of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains were are abundance, it is exactly the kind of scene I thought of while painting my tribute to this landscape! My painting “Luminescent Night Above the Sunflower Meadow” was inspired by late Summer nights spent in Alamosa County which is designated as a Dark Sky Region, has incredible panoramic vistas of jagged mountain peaks and innumerable wild prairie sunflowers and aster bunches blooming in late summer <3

The artwork is varnished in satin, has a signed certificate of authenticity on the back as well as a hanging wire and a custom wooden, gallery style floating frame.
